Swimming with Pigs & Stingrays at Perfect Day at CocoCay: Worth It?

Monday we tried an excursion we'd never done before—swimming with pigs and stingrays at Perfect Day at CocoCay.
This was actually my grandson Rhett's pick, and I'll admit...I wasn't completely sold on the idea at first. Like many people, I'd seen posts online about swimming pigs and wondered if the water would be dirty or unpleasant. Would it smell? Would there be pig poop everywhere? Those concerns almost kept me from booking it.
The good news? It wasn't anything like I imagined.
Yes, I did see one pig do what pigs do, but it wasn't an issue and certainly wasn't something I spent the excursion thinking about.
The water was clear, the area was well maintained, and once we got started, I completely forgot about my earlier worries.
What I really liked was that the experience offered options for different comfort levels. If you aren't comfortable getting into the water, there are opportunities to interact with the animals and take photos from the beach and deck areas. You can still get great pictures and enjoy the experience without fully participating in the swim portion. But those who want the full experience, they could actually swim with the pigs and stingrays for a much more hands-on interactive experience.
We had a great time, and it's definitely one of those experiences we'll be talking about long after the cruise is over.
Would I do it again? Absolutely.
If you're sailing to CocoCay and looking for something a little different, this is a fun way to make some unforgettable family memories. And honestly, that's what travel is all about.
One note: The experience did not include the photos from the experience. We were not allowed to take our phones onto the beach area. We could take photos with the pigs on the deck area with our phones. Excursion staff did take lots of photos with a go pro and uploaded them for everyone to get on and purchase if the desired.
