Disney has proposed their re-opening plan for Walt Disney World! While this has not yet been approved, the proposed opening dates are July 11th for #MagicKingdom and #AnimalKingdom. The proposal includes July 15th as the opening date for #Epcot and #HollywoodStudios.
While Disney will still be magical, there will be changes and new safety measures initially in place for now. Face masks will be required, hand washing stations and hand sanitizer throughout the parks, character meets will be postponed for now, no parades, no fireworks, playground areas will be temporarily closed, and contactless purchases will be encouraged with enhancements to #mobileordering capabilities.
Because theme park capacity will be significantly limited as guests are welcomed back to the magic, Disney will manage attendance through a new theme park reservation system that will require all guests to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance. At this time, Disney is temporarily pausing new ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel reservations so they can focus on guests with existing tickets and reservations. Existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be able to make reservation requests in phases before new tickets are sold. Disney will be reaching out to these guests soon to provide additional details. Theme park reservations will be limited due to attendance limitations and will be subject to availability. More details about this new reservation system will be available soon.
As more information is shared by Disney and the proposal is finalized and accepted we will share the details!
